Title: More Than Conquerors
Scripture: Romans 8:37

Paul has just listed the terrible things that cannot separate us from Christ. Death and life. Angels and demons. Present things and future things. Then he comes to this bold conclusion: we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us.

The Roman Christians knew what conquering meant. They watched triumphal parades where victorious generals displayed their spoils. Paul uses that picture, but he adds something shocking. We do not merely win. We are hyper-conquerors. We do not just survive the battle. We plunder the enemy.

This happens through Christ's love, not our strength. Look at the verse carefully. We conquer through him who loved us. His love is the power that turns our weakness into victory. When Satan accuses you, Christ's love has already answered. When your heart condemns you, God's love has already justified you.

This conquering happens in the middle of trouble, not after it ends. Paul does not say we avoid hardship. He lists hardship, then says we conquer in it. The cancer diagnosis, the rebellious child, the job loss. These do not defeat us. They become the very places where Christ proves his love and our victory.

Stop measuring your Christianity by how few problems you have. Start measuring it by how Christ's love carries you through the problems you cannot escape. The worst thing that can happen to you is death. Christ already died that death for you. Everything else is just details.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach us to see our troubles through your conquering love. When we feel defeated, remind us that you have already won the war. Amen.
