As we begin this new day, let us meditate upon the unchanging grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This day, I am reminded of the words penned by the apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans, chapter 5, verses 1-2:
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (ESV)
In this passage, we are reminded that our justification before God is not based on our own merit or good works, but solely on our faith in Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have been granted access to the unmerited favor of God, which we call grace. This grace is a constant, unwavering force in our lives, and it is upon this grace that we stand in confidence and hope.
As we go about our day, let us remember that the grace of God is not something that we can earn or deserve, but is a gift freely given to us by our Heavenly Father. Let us also remember that this grace is not something that changes or diminishes, but remains steadfast and sure, regardless of our circumstances or struggles.
In the words of Charles Spurgeon, "Grace is the mother and nurse of holiness, and not the apologist of sin." Let us therefore strive to live lives that reflect the transformative power of God's grace, and let us extend that grace to others, as we have been so richly blessed.
Let us also remember to pray for one another, and to seek the face of God in all things. May we always be mindful of the words of the apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (ESV)
In closing, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your unchanging grace, which sustains us and gives us hope. We ask that you would help us to live lives that reflect the transformative power of your grace, and that we would extend that grace to others. We pray for one another, that we may be united in love and purpose, and that we may seek your face in all things. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
