Title: We Will All Stand Before Christ
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:10

Paul says we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. This is not optional. Every person who has ever lived will stand before the Son of God and give an account. Christians are saved by grace through faith, but we still face this reckoning. Christ will evaluate how we lived after we believed.

This judgment is not about whether you get into heaven. That question was settled at the cross when you trusted Christ. This is about what you did with the life God gave you. The Greek word Paul uses is "bema," the same platform where ancient judges awarded prizes at athletic games. Christ will examine our works to determine eternal rewards or loss.

Paul says we will receive what is due for what we did in the body. Your body matters. How you used your eyes, hands, tongue, and mind will be reviewed. Every word spoken, dollar spent, hour wasted, and act of service will be brought to light. This includes both good and bad, significant and seemingly insignificant.

This truth should shape your daily choices. When you're tempted to cut corners at work, remember Christ is watching. When you consider ignoring a neighbor's need, recall that this moment will be reviewed. The judgment seat of Christ is not meant to paralyze you with fear, but to motivate you to live intentionally. You are building a life that will be inspected by perfect righteousness.

Many Christians live like this life doesn't count for eternity. They assume grace means God overlooks their sloppy discipleship. Paul says otherwise. Grace saves us, but our works follow us into eternity. The Christian who wastes decades on trivial pursuits will have nothing to show when they meet Christ. The believer who faithfully served in obscurity will be richly rewarded.

This passage calls you to examine your priorities. What are you building with your life? Are you living for temporary comfort or eternal significance? The judgment seat of Christ reminds us that this life is preparation for the next. Every act of obedience, every sacrifice for the gospel, every moment spent in prayer matters more than you realize. Live today in light of that coming day.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me remember that I will stand before You and give an account. Forgive me for living as if this life has no eternal consequences. Give me wisdom to invest my time, energy, and resources in what matters forever. Help me to live today in a way that will bring You joy when we meet face to face. Amen.
