But Jesus says His kingdom doesn’t come through political power or cultural dominance. It comes through hearts changed by the gospel. It grows when people hear the truth and recognize Jesus as King.
This doesn’t mean Christians abandon the world. We vote, we speak, we work for justice. But we do it as citizens of another kingdom. We don’t panic when the culture turns against us. We don’t act like everything’s lost when an election goes the wrong way. Our King is still on His throne, and His kingdom doesn’t rise or fall with any earthly nation. That frees us to live with calm confidence, even in chaotic times.
Jesus ends by saying, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth.” The kingdom advances when we tell the truth about who Jesus is and what He’s done. Every time we share the gospel, every time we live like people who belong to another King, we plant a flag for His kingdom. The world won’t always like it, but Jesus doesn’t ask the world’s permission to rule. He already does.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, fix our eyes on Your kingdom that cannot be shaken. Help us live as people who belong to You first, not to any earthly power. Give us courage to speak Your truth and live by Your values, even when the world pushes back. Keep us from putting our hope in princes or presidents. Our hope is in You, our King who reigns forever. Amen.
