Title: The Unchanging Nature of God's Love
Scripture Reading: Malachi 3:6, "For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed."
Good day, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, as we gather in His name, let us reflect on the immutable nature of our God, who is faithful and unchanging.
The prophet Malachi reminds us that God does not change. This truth is a cornerstone of our faith, for it assures us that His promises, His mercy, and His love are steadfast and unwavering. In a world that is constantly shifting and evolving, God remains a solid rock, an unmovable foundation upon which we can rest our hopes and our dreams.
In the same way, His love for us does not change. It is not subject to the whims of human emotion or the fluctuations of circumstance. His love is constant, enduring, and everlasting. As the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This unchanging nature of God's love should be a source of great comfort and encouragement to us. No matter what trials we face or what sins we commit, God's love remains. It is not based on our performance or our worthiness, but on His grace and mercy. As the beloved hymn states, "His love has no limit, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men; for out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again."
So, dear friends, let us rest in the unchanging love of God today. Let us not be consumed by our fears or our failures, but let us be consumed by His love. Let us live in the assurance that His love for us is as constant as the northern star, as enduring as the mountains, and as vast as the ocean.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your unchanging nature and Your unfailing love. In a world that is ever-changing, You remain the same, a solid rock upon which we can stand. Help us to rest in Your love today and every day. Help us to live in the assurance that nothing can separate us from Your love in Christ Jesus. In His holy name, we pray. Amen.
