Look at what this means for your prayers. You've cried out to God about that sickness, that marriage, that child, that job. And heaven is silent. Days turn into weeks. Weeks turn into months. You start to wonder if God heard you at all. He did. He heard every word. And his silence is not rejection. It's love working on a timetable you can't see yet.
Jesus could have healed Lazarus from a distance. He'd done it before. But he wanted to do something greater. He wanted to show them resurrection power, not just healing power. They thought they needed their brother back from sickness. Jesus knew they needed their brother back from death. Their faith needed to grow bigger. They needed to see that Jesus is the resurrection and the life, not just a good doctor.
This means God's delays are not denials. They're invitations to trust him for more than we asked. We ask for relief. He wants to give us resurrection. We ask for circumstances to change. He wants to change our hearts. We ask for life to go back to normal. He wants to give us life that's completely new. The waiting is hard. But the waiting is love.
Prayer: Lord, help us trust you when you delay. Teach us that your love sometimes keeps us waiting because you have something better planned. Give us faith to keep praying when heaven seems silent. Amen.
