Beloved in Christ,

On this day, September 16, 2025, let us turn our hearts and minds to the Word of God, seeking wisdom, comfort, and guidance for our daily lives. Let us reflect on the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV), which says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

This verse reminds us that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we undergo a profound transformation. Our old selves, marked by sin and separation from God, pass away. We are then made anew in Christ, becoming children of God, heirs to His promises, and partakers in His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).

This transformation is not merely a one-time event but a lifelong process. As we grow in our faith and learn to walk in the Spirit, we are continually being renewed and conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 12:2; Colossians 3:10). This process of sanctification is a work of God's grace, and we are called to cooperate with Him in this endeavor.

As we strive to live as new creations in Christ, let us also remember the words of the great Reformer, John Calvin, who wrote, "We are not our own, therefore let us not make it our end to seek what may be agreeable to our carnal nature." Our lives are no longer our own, but they belong to Him who died for us and rose again. Therefore, let us seek not our own will but the will of our heavenly Father, trusting in His faithfulness and love.

May the words of the hymn writer Charles Wesley be our prayer today:

"Finish, then, Thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see Thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in Thee;
Changed from glory into glory,
Till in heaven we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise."

In closing, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of new life in Christ. Grant us the grace to live as new creations, continually being renewed and transformed by Your Spirit. Help us to seek not our own will but Yours, trusting in Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

In Christ,
