As we gather today, let us reflect on the unfailing love of God, as described in Lamentations 3:22-23, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
In these times of uncertainty and turmoil, we can find comfort in the knowledge that God's love for us is constant and unchanging. His mercies are renewed each day, providing us with the strength and hope we need to face the challenges that come our way.
We are reminded of the words of Charles Spurgeon, who once said, "The mercy of God is not a mere sentiment, an idle fancy, or an unsubstantial shadow; it is a most real, tangible, and powerful force, and the effects of it are seen in every place, and known by all who have experienced its operations."
As we go about our daily lives, let us remember to extend this same mercy to others, as we have been shown mercy by our Heavenly Father. We are called to love one another as Christ has loved us (John 13:34), and to be examples of His love to those around us.
Let us also take time to reflect on the faithfulness of God, as described in the verse above. His faithfulness is not only evident in His love and mercy towards us, but also in His provision and protection. We can trust in His promises, knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
As we go forth today, let us be mindful of the unfailing love of God and the faithfulness of His promises. Let us seek to share this love with others, and to be a reflection of His mercy and grace in all that we do.
In closing, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. We are grateful for your mercies, which are new every morning. Help us to extend this same love and mercy to others, and to be a reflection of your grace in all that we do. May we trust in your promises, knowing that you are always with us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
