This changes how we view our salvation. We often think of it in individual terms, how God saved me from my sins. That's true, but it's bigger than that. Christ came to gather God's people together. He came to restore the broken relationship between God and his chosen ones. Your salvation is part of a grand plan that spans generations.
What does this mean for your daily life? First, it means your faith isn't about you alone. You're part of something bigger, the people of God that Christ is gathering. Second, it means Jesus perfectly accomplished what he set out to do. If you're in Christ, you're already gathered to God. You don't need to work to earn his acceptance. The servant has already brought you home.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for coming as the servant who gathers your people to God. Help us to live as those who have been brought home, showing others the way back to you. Amen.
