Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am humbled to share a devotion with you on this day, October 1, 2025.
Our meditation for today centers around the theme of God's faithfulness, as we turn our hearts and minds to Psalm 36:5-6, which says, "Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord." (ESV)
In these verses, we are reminded of the vastness of God's steadfast love and faithfulness. His love stretches beyond the limits of our comprehension, reaching even to the heavens. His faithfulness is unwavering and unchanging, like the clouds that blanket the sky.
Moreover, God's righteousness is firm and unyielding, like the mountains that stand tall and resilient against the forces of nature. His judgments are profound and inescapable, like the depths of the ocean. And yet, even in His righteousness and judgment, God saves both man and beast.
As we reflect on these verses, let us be filled with awe and wonder at the vastness of God's love and faithfulness. Let us also be reminded that God's righteousness and judgment are not to be feared, but embraced, for they are rooted in His unchanging love and faithfulness.
In closing, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your steadfast love and faithfulness. We stand in awe of Your vastness, and we take refuge in Your righteousness and judgment. Help us to trust in Your unchanging character, and to live lives that reflect Your love and faithfulness to others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
