Passage: John 8:12 - "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'"
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As we gather here today, on this 13th day of December in the year of our Lord 2025, let us remember that we are called to be the light of the world. Just as Jesus proclaimed in John 8:12, "I am the light of the world," so too are we called to be a reflection of His light in a world that is often shrouded in darkness.
In a world that is plagued by sin, suffering, and despair, it can be easy to lose sight of the hope that is found in Christ. But let us not forget that it is in the darkest moments of our lives that God's light shines the brightest. For it is in these moments that we are reminded of the truth that "the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:5).
So let us be encouraged, dear brothers and sisters, to walk in the light of Christ. Let us be a beacon of hope to those around us who are lost in darkness. And let us not forget that we are called to share the light of Christ with all those who are seeking it.
As we go about our daily lives, let us remember to be a reflection of Christ's love to all those we encounter. Let us be quick to forgive, slow to anger, and always ready to lend a helping hand. And let us not forget that we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world.
May the light of Christ shine brightly in our hearts today and every day, and may we be a reflection of His love to all those around us.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
