Title: Christ Our Wisdom
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:30

Paul is writing to a church that's impressed with human wisdom. They love eloquent speakers. They brag about which teacher they follow. Sound familiar? We're no different. We chase degrees, credentials, and worldly success. We think these things make us wise.

Then Paul drops this bomb: Christ has become our wisdom. Not our education. Not our Bible knowledge. Not our clever arguments. Christ himself. The Corinthians thought wisdom came from philosophical debates and impressive rhetoric. Paul says true wisdom is a person. It's not something you learn. It's someone you receive.

But Paul doesn't stop there. Christ is not only our wisdom. He's also our righteousness. That's massive. We stand before God with no righteousness of our own. Zero. Our best works are filthy rags. Yet in Christ, we have perfect righteousness. God credits Christ's obedience to our account. When the Father looks at us, he sees his Son's perfect record. That's not fair. That's grace.

Paul adds two more benefits. Christ is our sanctification and our redemption. Sanctification means he's making us holy. This isn't optional. If you're in Christ, he's actively transforming you. You can't stay the same. Redemption means he's paid our debt. We were slaves to sin, and he bought us with his blood. These aren't abstract theological concepts. They're daily realities for every believer.

This verse demolishes our pride. We have nothing to boast about except Christ. Your wisdom? It's Christ. Your righteousness? It's Christ. Your growth in holiness? It's Christ. Your salvation? It's Christ. Everything you need for life and godliness is found in him, not in yourself. Stop looking inward. Stop looking around. Look to Christ.

Prayer: Father, forgive us for trusting in our own wisdom and righteousness. Help us to see that everything we need is found in Christ alone. Teach us to boast only in him. Amen.
