Today, on this 11th day of December in the year of our Lord 2025, let us turn our hearts and minds to the Word of God, as revealed to us in the Holy Scriptures. The prophet Isaiah reminds us, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined" (Isaiah 9:2, ESV).
As we reflect on this season of Advent, we are reminded of the hope that was born in the humble town of Bethlehem over two thousand years ago. This hope, which is Jesus Christ, is the light that shines in the darkness, and it is a light that no darkness can overcome (John 1:5).
Let us, therefore, cling to this hope, as we wait for the coming of our Lord and Savior. Let us be diligent in prayer, seeking the face of God and asking for His guidance and direction in our lives. Let us be mindful of our words and actions, striving to live in a manner that is pleasing to God and honoring to His name.
In all things, let us remember the love of God, which was demonstrated to us in the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. May we be filled with that love, and may it overflow into every aspect of our lives, as we seek to serve Him and to bring glory to His name.
As we go about our day, let us be reminded of the words of the apostle Paul, who wrote, "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him" (Colossians 3:17, ESV).
Let us, therefore, pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world. May we cling to the hope that He brings, and may we be diligent in seeking Your face and following Your will. May we be filled with Your love, and may it overflow into every aspect of our lives. In all things, may we give thanks to You, and may we bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
