Beloved in Christ,

As we gather today in the presence of our Lord and Savior, let us open our hearts and minds to the wisdom found in His Word. Let us reflect on the passage from Colossians 3:1-4 (ESV), which says:

"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory."

In this passage, we are reminded of our new life in Christ, a life that transcends the temporal concerns of this world. As believers, we have been raised with Christ and are called to seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. We are to set our minds on things that are eternal, not on the fleeting pleasures and pursuits of this earth.

This call to focus on heavenly things is not a call to disregard our earthly responsibilities, but rather a call to prioritize our lives in accordance with God's kingdom. It is a call to live with an eternal perspective, recognizing that our true life is hidden with Christ in God.

As we navigate the complexities and challenges of this world, let us remember that our ultimate hope and security are found in Christ. When He appears, we will also appear with Him in glory. This promise should fill us with hope and motivate us to live lives that are pleasing to God.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, help us to set our minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Grant us the grace to seek Your kingdom and to live with an eternal perspective. May we find our identity and hope in Christ, who is our life. In His name we pray, Amen.

In Christ,
