Believer's Eternal Rewards in Heaven According to Scripture

As believers, we eagerly await the day when we will finally be with our Lord in heaven, where we will receive the fullness of our inheritance in Christ. According to Scripture, we will receive a new, glorified body, like that of our Lord Jesus Christ, as Paul writes in Philippians 3:21, "who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body." This new body will be free from the ravages of sin and decay, and will be perfectly suited for life in the presence of God. In 1 Corinthians 15:42-43, Paul describes this new body as one that is raised in incorruption, in glory, and in power, a body that is no longer subject to the weaknesses and limitations of our current fleshly bodies.

But our reception in heaven is not just about what we will receive, it's also about who we will be with. We will be in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who will welcome us with open arms, as He says in Matthew 25:23, "Well done, good and faithful servant...Enter into the joy of your master." We will also be reunited with all the saints who have gone before us, as Hebrews 12:22-23 describes, a great cloud of witnesses who will join us in worshiping and glorifying our God. And, of course, we will be with the holy angels, who will join us in singing praises to our God, as Revelation 5:11-12 describes.

In heaven, we will also receive a full understanding of God's plan and purpose, as 1 Corinthians 13:12 says, "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." We will see the intricate web of God's sovereignty and the outworking of His providence in our lives, and we will be amazed at the depth of His love and wisdom. And, as Revelation 21:4 promises, God will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain, for the former things will have passed away. In heaven, we will experience the fullness of joy and satisfaction that comes from being in the presence of our Lord, and we will worship Him forever, as Revelation 4:8 describes, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come."
