Seeking God's Truth through Biblical Examples and Principles
Seeking God's truth involves a diligent and intentional pursuit of God himself, his word, and his ways, as revealed in Scripture [3, 4]. This pursuit is not merely intellectual but encompasses the whole person, including one's heart, thoughts, and actions [2, 6].
The Bible commands believers to seek God [3]. This includes seeking his name, his word, his face, his strength, and his commandments [3]. For instance, Isaiah 55:6 exhorts, "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near." This seeking should be immediate [3]. It also involves seeking his kingdom and his righteousness, as Jesus taught in Matthew 6:33 [3, 13]. The pursuit of truth is intrinsically linked to seeking God, as Jeremiah 5:1 indicates, "Run back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places of it, if you can find a man, if there are any who does justly, who seeks truth."
The process of seeking God's truth is characterized by diligence [1].
