Christian Success and Fulfillment in Daily Life

As we ponder the concept of success, it's essential to define it through the lens of Scripture. In a world where success is often measured by earthly accomplishments and accolades, the Bible offers a refreshingly different perspective. According to Jeremiah 9:23-24, true success is not about boasting in our wisdom, strength, or riches, but rather about understanding and knowing the Lord. This understanding is rooted in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, as Proverbs 9:10 reminds us.

To be successful in God's eyes, we must prioritize our relationship with Him, seeking to know and glorify Him in all aspects of our lives. This involves trusting in His sovereignty, as declared in Romans 11:36, where we're reminded that all things are from Him, through Him, and to Him. As we trust in His goodness and provision, we're called to be faithful stewards of the resources and talents He's entrusted to us, using them to advance His kingdom and bring glory to His name.

In 1 Corinthians 4:2, the apostle Paul writes that it is required of stewards that they be found faithful, highlighting the importance of faithfulness in our pursuit of success. Moreover, Colossians 3:23-24 exhorts us to work heartily, as for the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain when done unto Him. By fixing our eyes on Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith, as Hebrews 12:2 encourages, we'll find that our definition of success begins to shift, and we'll start to pursue the things that truly matter to God. Ultimately, success is not about achieving some earthly milestone, but about faithfully following Christ, trusting in His goodness, and bringing glory to His name, for as Matthew 6:33 reminds us, when we seek first the kingdom of God, all these things will be added unto us.
