Evangelism as a Natural Expression of Faith

Evangelism is a natural expression of faith, as it stems from a heart transformed by the gospel. Paul writes in Romans 8:28 that "we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." This understanding of God's sovereignty and love compels believers to share the good news with others, as they recognize the profound impact it has had on their own lives. In Reformed theology, evangelism is not merely a duty, but an overflow of gratitude for the grace received through faith alone in Christ alone.

As believers grow in their understanding of God's character and the riches of His grace, they become increasingly motivated to proclaim the gospel to a lost world. This is because they have come to grasp the magnitude of their own sin and the wonders of God's mercy, which leads them to desire that others might experience the same redemption. The gospel, after all, is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, and believers are eager to see others come to faith and experience the joy and freedom that comes with it.
