Focusing on God's Glory in Storytelling and Example
When sharing stories and examples, it's essential to ensure that they don't become the primary focus, distracting from God's glory and sovereignty. Paul writes in Romans 8:28 that "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose," highlighting God's sovereign hand in every aspect of life. This truth addresses the heart of the issue, reminding us that our stories and experiences are not the main attraction, but rather a means to point others to God's glory and sovereignty.
By recognizing God's sovereignty in our lives, we can learn to use our stories and examples as a means to glorify Him, rather than seeking to draw attention to ourselves. This requires a humble and submissive heart, acknowledging that our experiences are not the ultimate reality, but rather a reflection of God's work in our lives. When we share our stories, we must do so in a way that gives God the glory, recognizing that He is the one who has worked all things together for our good and His glory.
In doing so, we can avoid making our stories and examples the main attraction, and instead, point others to the greatness and majesty of God, highlighting His sovereignty and glory in all things. This approach not only honors God but also helps to keep our hearts focused on what truly matters, namely, the glory and sovereignty of our loving Heavenly Father.
