Qualities of a Tested, Proven, and Tried Person in Scripture
Scripture describes the tested, proven, and tried person through a consistent pattern of qualities forged in affliction and refined through endurance. The biblical vocabulary itself signals this process: the Greek dokimos (proven, approved) and dokimion (testing) appear in passages like James 1:3, where "the testing of your faith" produces "persevering endurance" [8]. The Refining Process
The metaphor of metallurgical refinement dominates biblical descriptions of testing.
