Salvation through Faith in Christ Jesus Explained

To be received in Christ is a profound reality that underscores the very heart of the gospel. As the apostle Paul so eloquently puts it, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). This reception into Christ is not merely a casual acquaintance, but a deep, spiritual union that transforms our very being. We are, as it were, "in Him" (Colossians 1:16), partakers of His life, and beneficiaries of His righteousness.

As we consider this wondrous truth, we are reminded that our reception into Christ is not based on our own merits or achievements, but solely on the sovereign grace of God. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). This gift of salvation, this reception into Christ, is the culmination of God's eternal plan to redeem a people for Himself, a plan that was ordained before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4-5).

As we bask in the beauty of this truth, we are compelled to worship and adore the One who has received us into His loving arms. We are, as the apostle John so tenderly expresses, "children of God" (1 John 3:1), and as such, we are called to live out our lives in reverence and awe of the One who has so graciously received us. May we, as the Psalmist declares, "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8), and may our reception into Christ be the defining feature of our lives, shaping our thoughts, our words, and our actions, as we seek to glorify the One who has so lovingly received us.
