Using Technology to Share Faithful Examples and Edify Believers
Believers are called to set an example for others in various aspects of their lives, including speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity [5]. This exemplary living is not merely for personal piety but also serves to edify other believers and bear witness to the Gospel. The New Testament highlights several virtues that characterize a faithful example.
One key aspect of faithful living is sincerity, which Christ himself exemplified [7]. Ministers, too, are called to be examples of sincerity [7]. This quality stands in opposition to "fleshly wisdom" and should permeate a believer's love for God and Christ, their service to God, their love for one another, and their entire conduct [7]. The preaching of the Gospel should also be marked by sincerity [7].
Faithfulness is another crucial characteristic of saints [9]. This is demonstrated in service to God, declaring His word, caring for dedicated things, helping fellow believers, bearing witness, and even in reproving others [9]. Faithfulness extends to all aspects of life, including keeping secrets and conveying messages, and is expected "to death" [9]. The "work of faith" is described as a "working reality" that is active in receiving truth and producing fruits, rather than a passive assent [10]. This "work of faith" is seen as a continuous chain of action, leading to its full development [10].
Meekness is also presented as an example set by Christ [4]. It is considered a fruit of the Spirit, and believers are encouraged to seek it, put it on, receive the word of God with it, and exhibit it in their conduct [4]. Meekness is precious in God's sight and is to be shown to all people, even when restoring those who err [4]. Ministers are urged to follow after meekness and instruct opponents with it [4].
Boldness, or holy boldness, is another quality that Christ exemplified [3]. It is attained through faith in Christ and is a characteristic of saints [3]. This boldness is produced by trust in God and the fear of God, and it enables believers to express their trust in God and have confidence in prayer [3]. Saints are promised boldness in judgment [3]. Ministers are called to exhibit boldness in their faithfulness to their people and in their preaching [3].
Prudence, intimately connected with wisdom, is also exemplified by Christ [8]. Those who possess prudence gain knowledge, deal with knowledge, and carefully consider their actions [8]. They understand God's ways and their own, are crowned with knowledge, and avoid ostentation [8]. Prudence helps foresee and avoid evil, thereby preserving the individual [8].
The communication of faith is vital for its effectiveness, leading to the acknowledgment of the good things found in Christ Jesus [2]. This communication can be seen in the context of sharing the Gospel. Paul, for instance, fully preached the Good News of Christ from Jerusalem all the way to Illyricum, empowered by signs, wonders, and the Spirit of God [1]. The early church saw the importance of sharing the Gospel, and this sharing was often accompanied by the demonstration of God's power [1].
The impact of faithful examples extends to glorifying God. When believers demonstrate generosity and subjection to the Gospel, others glorify God, acknowledging Him as the source of grace and goodness [11]. The Scriptures themselves are able to make one wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus [6]. This underscores the importance of both living out one's faith and communicating it, as the written word provides the foundation for understanding and growth in faith.
